LASU Student Dies, Executives Promise Justice Over Tragic Death

The Education Studentsβ Association of Nigeria (ESAN), Lagos State University chapter, has announced the tragic demise of Abdulrasheed Azeezat Adenike, a 300-level student in the Faculty of Education, Department of Guidance and Counseling.
In a statement released on April 12, 2026, by the office of the Public Relations Officer, the association described her passing as a painful and shocking loss that has deeply affected the faculty and the wider university community.
The association extended heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased, praying for strength and comfort for all those impacted by the tragedy.
According to the statement, the 40th ESAN LASU Administration has begun active engagement with relevant authorities and is collaborating closely with the Lagos State University Studentsβ Union, led by its President, Comrade Adebayo Peter Korede. The association also acknowledged the swift intervention of the Studentsβ Union in ensuring that justice is pursued.
ESAN further disclosed that immediate steps are being taken to follow up on the matter, including a scheduled convergence involving faculty executives, the Studentsβ Union, and concerned comrades. The meeting is set to hold today at 8:00 a.m. at the front of the Lagos State University Studentsβ Union Arcade.
